In the one hundred and sixth World of Warcraft podcast episode, we race to max level only to find all the withered things we need to do to get raid ready, Sláinte dings 110, while Molsan lets his Legion companion app tell him how to play, we rediscover group finder in-game to fight world bosses and complete group quests, we regret raid finder almost as much as Ghostcrawler, and blame LFR for him leaving Blizzard, we run dungeons instead of questing, debate over the best and worst order halls, ask you to hearth to your Garrison before returning to Dalaran, but most of all, we want you to not be disappointed in the World of Warcraft.

Bitter and Salty is brought to you by Molsan and Sláinte.

  • Leveling up for… what?
  • What’s next? World Bossing, Suramar, Artifacting, Keystones, Withered?
  • You ding and… nothing happens; no new talent, no grats in guild chat, etc.

Mobile App Order Halls

  • You can just do these forever… Oh, until you run out of OH resources. GG

Molsan Wonders

  • Why can’t you just get a rez timeout where you die instead of making your corpse-walk through Hightmountain?

Ghostcrawler Regrets LFR

  • Tweet about him regretting LFR?
  • “To be clear, the goal of getting more players into raiding is a good one. But the way Raid Finder turned out removed, IMO anyway, a lot of the epicness of what made raiding raiding. I also haven’t played WoW in a few years, so it’s entirely possible they have solved the problem by now.”

First Dungeon: Darkheart Thicket

  • Tank was Pally… 110
  • Healer was Pally… 101
  • SP and Rogue were 103… I was 103

In the one hundred and fourth World of Warcraft podcast episode, we enter the Legion in counterclockwise fashion, and run all the artifact quest lines, we venture into Stormheim together, and watch players cover quest objectives on their mounts, we decide if we want Gul’dan or Khadgar deleted from the game, or both, we wonder if Blizzard is putting us through too many scenarios, and not allowing us to play with our friends, we glide to the new fishing NPC for training and drowned mana, and we spend hours deciding on names for our Demon Hunters.

  • He is the Nat Pagle of Legion which is stupid
  • Margoss can train you, or Marcia Chase can unlock Legion fishing
  • Once you reach the island, Margoss gives you a quest… just turn around and fish in his floating pond
  • Goal is to fish up Drowned Mana from the pond
  • Use DM as currency for a pet and mount… similar to The Anglers in MoP

In the ninety-seventh World of Warcraft podcast episode, Molsan starts over with World of Warcraft and destroys his Trade Skill Master settings after overpaying for vendor items off the auction house, Sláinte convinces Molsan to start buying companion pets after asking how much the Corrupted Nest Guardian is worth, we ask if the game is too complicated to play because of its high dependency on addons and other external resources, we discuss whether or not it is worth it to complete the Draenor Pathfinder achievement to unlock flying in Draenor, and we conduct a revealing interview with a special guest, discussing the status of raid teams, power leveling alts, and sharing secrets.

In the sixty-seventh World of Warcraft podcast episode, we grind for gear and fish as we continue to prepare for our next attempt at Herald of the Titans, Molsan tries to dig Sláinte out of the rut by offering ideas and challenges to keep him stimulated, we consider making “A Fortnight in Dala-ran” our next challenge even if it involves jousting, we offer suggestions for Blizzard to help with the pre-expansion lull, and we sing with Grom and the Warsong Clan for our Thirty Weeks of Warlords of Draenor.

Fun facts we didn’t know about…

Grom Hellscream

  • He was Thrall’s best friend and chief advisor

  • He was the first to drink Mannoroth’s blood to bind the Horde to the Burning Legion

  • His name means “The Giant’s Heart”

  • He is buried in Ashenvale in Demon Fall Canyon – the site where he and Thrall defeated Mannoroth

  • His axe, Gorehowl, belongs to his son Garrosh

  • He led the invasion of Shattrath City and won

Warsong Clan

  • Named after the high-pitched battle cries of Grom and the rhythmic songs they chant in battle

  • After the Second War, they were charged with guarding the Dark Portal on the Azerothian side

  • Ner’zhul betrayed the Warsong, and they were stranded on Azeroth and retreated to Stonard after the destruction of the Dark Portal

  • With an elevated bloodlust, Mannoroth manipulated the clan to fight the Night Elves in Ashenvale and killed Cenarius

  • The night elves still hold animosity towards the Warsong clan and they frequently clash in the area known as Warsong Gulch

Pet Battle Email from Kori from Aerie Peak – US <Convert to Raid>

Hey guys,

I was thinking about the tweet I sent Slainte and thought maybe I should provide more info.

Here is my guide to getting your first lvl 25 pet fairly quickish.

Capture an Arcane Eye or few from outside Karazhan. These pets are a single pet fight around lvl 17. You should be able to take them out with around lvl 8-10 pets. It is 3 to 1 after all.

Get the blues if you can, else greens work just fine.

if you can’t find a green, grab a white or grey and upgrade them to green by paying 1000 justice points to the justice point vendor standing on the Temple of Niuzao

Battle lvl 20-21 pets. Capture any blues or greens you can. (or make them with JP stones) Swap out your team to the higher pets, and then fight any pets at least 3 levels higher then your own. Wild pets at this level lose 2 levels of experience when caught, so this trick will only take you up to around level 22-23 pets. Find a good spot with lots of pets in pandaria, (the pools in the vale work well, for example) and battle your way to 25.

All of the power level guides I’ve found assume you at least 1 or 2 lvl 25 pets. This is the quickest way I know to get that first 25.

TWoWoW Week 17 – Favorite Profession

Sláinte – Fishing… Like Duh

Molsan – Enchanting

Baloku, Earthen Ring

Hey guys, great show.

As a new listener I’ve only heard a few episodes, but Bitter and Salty is already at the top of my playlist.

I’m also new to WoW, relatively, having started at the end of Cata, so I’m still spending most of my time catching up and experiencing WoW with a first time beginner’s mind.

You’ll probably talk about pet battles again and for when you do I’d like to point out that Mr. Pinchy is freakin’ awesome!  Molsan, Fish up a Mr. Pinchy!  Slainte, he’s just waiting to be the captain of your team.

For the seventeenth week in the World of Warcraft, how could it be anything other than fishing?  Hooray for Mr. Pinchy!  ‘nuf said, eh?

I missed the discounted character transfer weekend, and honestly I’m too cheap to have paid for a character transfer anyway.  However, I took a look at the Bitter and Salty’s “Stay Classy” progress and rolled a goblin mage on Earthen Ring.  If you’d like to toss me a guild invite, I’d love to join.

P.S. Aquoavo, Karazhan, Rogue, Howling Fjord, Dire Maul, Harrison Jones in Grizzly Hills, Remember the Sunwell, PvE, For the Horde?, Flameward Hipogryph, Noblegarden Gearset, What a Long Strange Trip it’s Been, Magister’s Terrace, Stratholme, Bartender, The Violet Hold, and Fishing! Hooray for Mr. Pinchy!

And stop.

Hi Boys!

Thought I’d send an email for Week 17 of 30 Weeks of WoW: favorite profession. Too much to fit in a Tweet, and I know how much Salty Sláinte loves reading emails. 😉

My favorite profession in WoW has nothing to do with what is most beneficial for my class, and in point of fact, I have a love/hate relationship with this profession. It’s weird and wacky, it’s Engineering.

First, why I love it: there are so many fun, cool, useful items to make. From the chopper to the roflcopter, belt tinkers, bombs, trinkets, guns, goggles, gadgets, thingamabobs, and doohickeys, Engineering has loads of awesome toys to play with.

Why I hate it: Parts. All the freaking weird little parts you have to make BEFORE you can make the item. A framework, a tube, blasting powders, triggers, struts, contacts, a handful of nuts… err, I mean bolts. It’s an organizational nightmare converting raw mats to parts, parts to an item.

To me, though, the rewards outweigh the annoyance of constructing the item. I love blasting open a lockbox or having a belt tinker that projects a “cardboard” version of me to draw aggro. And don’t get me started on how much I adore my roflcopter!

I don’t think I have to tell you fellas how much I love the show and look forward to it every week, but I’ll tell ya again anyways!

Ciao for now!

Fishing! Nah, I just said that to maintain the ‘separated from Slainte at birth’ legend.

Inscription! Nah, I just said that coz Molsans Milling Macro is da bomb.

Cooking! Nah, I just said that so I’d have an excuse to say “rep with ma’ besties”

For the longest time, Jewelcrafting was my favourite profession. The reason was a combination of factors including that it was new, it was a good gold earner, there was plenty of opportunity to help guildies that didnt have the right cuts, and it had some pretty good JC-only perks. It’s kind of fallen out of favour with me this expansion, mostly because I think the first three of that list no longer really applies as much as it used to.

So I’m going to cheat and say my favourite profession is mining-alchemy-blacksmithing. There’s other combinations, but that’s currently my favourite. As an altoholic, there’s nothing more fulfilling than mining your own ore, smelting it, getting your alchemist to trasmute into trillium and living steel, then having your blacksmith make a super useful belt buckle or the like.

Stay professiony San Diego

TWoWoW Week 18 – Best and worst thing about World of Warcraft

Really enjoying the podcast – this is my first listen. 🙂

ElvUI and other bag modes – if you go into the configuration for elvUI (/elvUI), you can go to bags and disable the bag addon in ElvUI.

This didn’t affect my OneBag installation at all – just kept me from displaying 4 bags at the bank!

I’m going to listen to this tonight while playing because you touch on a lot of relevant topics to me, but without listening, I’d say that dps is about spell rotation, that can end up with a lot of button hitting when the going gets tough. If it’s possible to soulstone a boss well I have possible done that, as well as hitting and equipping my fishing rod out of confusion, or perhaps building a cooking fire.

The Warlock noob. Hmm 5 years playing one and I’m an expert at questing, but put me in a raid and I’m like a toddler on a day out with the grown ups.

As for elvUI. I hated it at first and changed back to Blizzards default, but for me elvUI grows on you, until you just can’t do without it.

Looking forward to having a listen.
